Good morning and happy Friday!
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful week and enjoying the great weather we had this week. It sure was a blessing!
This week we have accomplished a lot! We have started our next mini unit under our Numbers & Operations in Base Ten unit, which covers reading/writing/comparing/ordering decimals through thousandths as well as rounding decimals. This will not be as long as the last mini unit- I am anticipating another math test to fall on either 11/16 or 11/17. I will update you more next week.
We are also nearing the end of the Global Read Aloud- this has been quite the journey! This is my first year with this project, and I have to say it has been truly amazing to see all of the skills being developed through the GRA. This week specifically, we focused on building theories about our main character by completing a Color-Symbol-Image routine, which comes from the book Visible Thinking. We also created 'Character Selfies,' for which we viewed a specific part of the story through the eyes of our character. These are on display in the hallway- be sure to take a look! We also met digitally with our two partner classes in Wisconsin and Missouri, and have been discussing the book with classrooms in other parts of the world as well.
Thank you for all that you do! Have a wonderful weekend!
